Giambattista Moroni

School of Brescia. Pupil of Moretto. A prolific portrait painter, but not of the greatest merit.

LONDON, NATIONAL GALLERY

A TAILOR Half length, standing behind his board, three-quarters to right. He wears a silvery cream doublet and red trunk hose. In his right hand are his shears, and in his left a piece of black cloth.

Purchased at Bergamo in 1862.
